DOJ’s COPS Technology Grant Program

This program is targeted to the following jurisdictions (1) States and U.S. territories, (2) Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) with a population of 150,000 or greater, and (3) an additional 20 selected MSAs with a population less than 150,000 to ensure that each state has a minimum of three invited MSAs (in states where at least three MSAs exist). For 2007, approximately $159M is available through the COPS Technology Program.
PROGRAM SUMMARY: Requires a 25% “cash” state or local match in funding. Funding has a priority focus on advanced technologies that foster communications and data interoperability (including voice, data and video). Ahura product solutions qualify for this funding opportunity. Average awards will be $1M-to-$3M for each grant. $6M will be the maximum for certain qualifying populations.
DEADLINE: Applications from the targeted jurisdictions must be received at the COPS Office by June 29, 2007.
US DHS Homeland Security Gran Program
HazMasterG3® is also authorized for purchase using HSGP funding. The 2007 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) will award more than $1.6 billion to enhance the ability of states, territories, and urban areas to prepare for, prevent, and respond to terrorist attacks and other major disasters. HSGP funds can be used for preparedness planning, equipment acquisition, training, exercises, management, and administration in order to obtain resources that are critical to building and sustaining capabilities that are aligned with the Interim National Preparedness Goal and respective State and Urban Area Homeland Security Strategies.
