NLM WISER Discontinued, Upgrade Now to HazMasterG3

22-Feb-2023

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) announced that their WISER software will be discontinued effective 28 February, 2023.  The WISER software, developed by a contractor for NLM, largely copied capabilities available in HazMasterG3 and other commercially available software.  We're glad that NLM and the National Institutes of Health finally recognized that trying to duplicate capability already provided by private industry is a waste of taxpayer resources, and robs first-responders of true innovation brought to market by private industry.  Other government copy-cat efforts, like ERDSS, are also effectively abandoned, as much of its information was copied from WISER.  In 2003, when NLM first released a WISER "beta" with 43 chemicals, HazMasterG3 was already shipping with over 56,000 materials and tradenames.  Today, with over 167,000 materials and tradenames, and multiple patents for advancing the state of the art, HazMasterG3 continues to set the standard against which all other CBRNE/HME decision support systems are measured.  Contact us for information on how to easily transition to HazMasterG3.
